Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 04/19/10 and Tuesday, 04/20/10. Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. ADMINSTRATIVE MESSAGE The University of Texas at Austin Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to maintain its accreditation status. The assessment will verify the agency's continuing adherence to professional standards. Your comments and input are requested. ART BUILDING, 2301 San Jacinto Blvd. Theft: A red colored Raleigh mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the southwest portion of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred between: 4-17-10 and 4-20-10. HARRY RANSOM CENTER, 300 West 21st Street Theft: A black backpack containing an Easy Writer Pocket Book, a library book, a pair of ear buds, a Phillips scientific calculator, a paycheck and several receipts was stolen when it was left in the courtyard located on the east side of the building. The owner asked his girlfriend to watch his backpack while he ran an errand. The owner returned to find his girlfriend had left the area while he was gone. Loss value: $60.00. Occurred on 04/14/10 between 11:20 PM and 11:30 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Harassment: A UT student reported receiving several annoying text messages as well as a notification on Facebook. Occurred between: 4-13-10 and 4-19-10. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Disrupting Meeting or Procession (2 Counts): During an event inside the Union Ballroom, two non-UT subjects were taken into custody for Disrupting Meeting or Procession. Occurred on: 4-19-10, at 7:34 PM. WEST MALL BUILDING, #3 West Mall Theft: A staff member reported a brown leather wallet, containing personal identification, several credit cards and a debit card were stolen after being left unattended inside an unsecured 6th floor office. Loss value: $10.00. Occurred on: 4-19-10, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 13 Alarm Calls, 1 Fire Alarm Activation,1 Public Assist Request, 2 Welfare Concern Reports and 1 Unsecured Door Reports between 04/19/10 and 04/20/10.
