Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 04/29/10 and Friday, 04/30/10. Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. SANCHEZ BUILDING, 1912 Speedway Theft: A black IBM Thinkpack laptop computer along with a laptop bag were stolen from inside an unsecured 4th floor computer lab after being left unattended. Loss value: $1,000.00. Occurred on: 4-27-10. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A grey Trek Hybrid bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with an unknown type of lock. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred between: 4-27-10 and 4-29-10. JOHNSON WILDFLOWER CENTER, 4801 La Crosse Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A cream colored purse containing a check book and a pill box were stolen from her vehicle. During the investigation, the officer determined entry had been made through a window that had been broken out. Loss value: $45.00. Repair damage for the undisclosed window: 300.00. Occurred on: 4-29-10 between and unknown time and 9:30 AM. PETER T. FLAWN ACADEMIC CENTER, #2 West Mall Theft: An Apple iPhone was stolen from inside a 2nd floor women's restroom after the property was left unsecured and unattended on top of a counter. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 4-29-10, between 2:45 PM and 2:50 PM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping on the east side of the building. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 4-30-10, at 12:20 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 12 Alarm Calls, and 5 Unsecured Door Reports between 04/29/10 and 04/30/10.
