Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 05/04/10 and Wednesday, 05-05-10. Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A brown leather wallet containing personal identification, several credit cards, and $23.00 in cash was stolen from a secured locker located inside the first floor locker room. Loss value: $28.00. Occurred on: 5-4-10, between 6:30 PM and 7:43 PM. PARKING LOT 89, 1301 East Dean Keeton Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member discovered the rear window of his vehicle had been shattered and all four tires to his vehicle had been slashed. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Occurred between: 5-04-10 and 5-05-10. REC SPORTS CENTER, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd Theft: A black colored Apple iPhone and $80.00 in cash were stolen from a secured locker located inside the men's locker room. Loss value: $230.00. Occurred on: 5-04-10 between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning (3 Counts): Three non-UT subjects were reported to be stopping UT staff members and asking them for money as they entered into the building. During the investigation, all three subjects were issued written Criminal Trespass Warnings and were escorted from the area. Occurred on: 5-04-10, at 11:01 AM. 400 BLOCK EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD Possession of Alcohol by a Minor: A blue colored Volvo was observed travelling twice the posted speed limit while travelling south bound in the 1900 Block San Jacinto. During the traffic investigation, the officer saw in plain view a plastic bag that contained three un-opened 12-oz cans of beer. The officers noted the driver was under the legal age of 21. The driver, a UT student, informed the officers that the beer belonged to a friend of hers that she had taken home. The subject was issued field release citation for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor. Occurred on: 5-05-10, at 3:58 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 23 Alarm Calls, 2 Callbox notifications, 1 EMS call, and 2 Unsecured Door Reports between 05/04/10 and 05/05/10.
