Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 05/10/10 and Tuesday, 05/11/10. Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. ALMETRIS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave. Theft: A UT student reported the theft of his rear tire and rim. During the investigation, the officer learned the property was attached to a secured bike and the bike was stored in the racks located on the northeast side of the dormitory. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred between: 5-10-10 and 5-11-10. Crime Prevention Tip: Sometime today a second victim will notify our department to report the theft of their bike- minus a rear tire. Proper utilization of the recommended two lock locking system is very important. LBJ LIBRARY AND MUSEUM, 2305 Robert Dedman Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported displaying parts of his anatomy that would have been best to have been left covered. During the investigation, the officers soon discovered the subject had received a prior Criminal Trespass Warning. The subject was taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 5-10-10 at 9:30 PM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member discovered fecal matter had been smeared on four exterior windows located on the southeast portion of the building. Damage value: $100.00. Discovered on: 5-10-10, at 7:45 AM. W. R. WOOLRICH LABORATORY, 210 East 24th Street Harassment: A UT staff member and a UT professor reported receiving a number of telephone calls and emails from a non-UT subject. The subject demanded the staff member and professor to assist him in developing a collaboration for heavy payload delivery for space and other non-physics options. The subject went on to state that he would be willing to campout if he did not receive any assistance. Reported on: 5-10-10, at 11:00 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 13 Alarm Calls, 1 Suspicious Activity report, 2 Call box activations, and 2 Unsecured Door Reports between 05/10/10 and 05/11/10.
