Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Thursday, 06/03/10 and Friday, 06/04/10. *****ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE ****** Are you a Fan of the University of Texas Police Department? LOREN WINSHIP DRAMA BUILDING, 300 East 23rd Street Theft / Fraud: A UT faculty member discovered her wallet containing $2.00 in cash, checkbook, personal identification and a credit card was stolen from an unsecured 2nd floor office. During the investigation, the officer learned an unknown subject had made three unauthorized charges at a local area business. Loss value: $274.00. Occurred on: 6-03-10, between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM. RUSSELL A. STEINDAM HALL, #7 East Mall Theft: A NEC data projector was reported stolen from inside an unsecured 3rd floor classroom. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred between: 5-25-10 and 6-03-10. SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORKS, 1925 San Jacinto Blvd. Theft: A UT faculty member reported a Keurig brand coffee pot and smoke colored carafe were stolen from an unsecured 1st floor break room. Loss value: $350.00. Occurred on: 6-03-10, between 8:30 AM and 11:15 AM. 200 BLOCK WEST 6th STREET Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Fictitious License: A UT Police Officer observed a UT staff member as well as a UT student supporting a very intoxicated UT student. After loading the student into the vehicle, the officer saw the first UT student literally begin marking his territory on the corner of the staircase. During the investigation, the officer discovered the territory marker was under the legal age of 21 and had been consuming adult beverages. The officer observed the subject attempting to conceal the fact that he was in possession of several State issued driver's licenses. When asked, “Why”, the subject stated the licenses were used in order for him to get into establishments that serve alcohol. The subject was issued two field release citations for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and Possession of a Fictitious License. Occurred on: 6-04-10, at 2:15 AM. 2000 BLOCK ROBERT DEDMAN Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A Chevy SUV passed a marked police vehicle without its headlamps turned on. During the traffic investigation, the officer located a glass tube that held a wire mesh. The pipe contained burned Cocaine residue. The subject was issued a field release citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was released at the scene. Occurred on: 6-04-10, at 1:19 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 14 Alarm Calls, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 06/03/10 and 06/04/10.
