Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Thursday, 07/01/10 and Friday, 07/02/10. ****New Service Brought to You by UTPD**** UTPD is happy to announce online property registration. Items with a serial number such as laptops, MP3 players, cell phones, electronics, and bikes are eligible. Registering your property is very helpful in theft investigations and in returning lost property to its rightful owner. Come join us on Face Book at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/utaustinpolice GOLDSMITH HALL, #5 West Mall Theft: A silver Trek mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the east side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred between: 6-25-10 and 7-01-10. O' HENRY HALL, 601 Colorado Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT staff member observed two UT students attempting to stand and provide additional H2O to several plants. As the officers were approaching the subjects, one subject jumped the fence and walked away. The second subject was stopped. During the investigation, the first subject returned looking for his partner. As the investigation continued, the officers detected a moderate odor of alcohol on the subject's breaths and learned both were under the legal age of 21. Both subjects were issued a field release citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor along with a referral to the Dean of Student's Office. Occurred on: 7-02-10, at 2:07 AM. PETER T. FLAWN ACADEMIC CENTER, #2 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT stsff member reported a UT student was being stubborn and was refusing to leave a restricted area that had closed for the day. During the investigation, the subject was issued a verbal Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-01-10, at 2:57 PM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was reported to be sitting in front of the building blocking the sidewalk. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-01-10, at 5:35 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 16 Alarm Calls, 2 Public Assist Requests and 1 Malfunctioning Light Report between 07/01/10 and 07/02/10.
