Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 07/06/10 and Wednesday, 07/07/10. ****New Service Brought to You by UTPD**** UTPD is happy to announce online property registration. Registering your property is very helpful in theft investigations and in returning lost property to its rightful owner. Come join us on Face Book at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/utaustinpolice COMMUNICATIONS BUILDING-A, 2504-A Whitis Ave Harassment: Two UT staff members reported receiving several trelphone calls from an unknown caller. The staff members both reported several of the telephone calls repeatedly turned to an inappropriate nature that where found offisive. One staff member hung up on the caller and was able to successfully trap the telephone number of the unknown caller. Occurred on: 7-07-10, at 10:55 AM. LBJ LIBRARY, 2305 Robert Dedman Terroristic Treat: Several UT staff members reported receiving several threatening telephone calls from a former UT employee that had been terminated. Occurred on: 7-05-10 and 7-06-10. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: A UT staff member discovered the door to a coin-operated machine standing open. During the investigation, the officer noted the coin collection basket was still inside the machine; however, several food items were missing from the machine. Loss value: $5.00. Discovered on: 7-07-10, at 3:25 AM. SAN JACINTO RESIDENCE HALL, 309 East 21st Street Assault with Bodily Injury / Domestic Violence: Two UT staff members were reported as being involved in a knock down dragged out fight. During the investigation, the officer observed the victim's eye swelling and he was bleeding from a cut to his cheek. The officers also learned the staff members were in a dating relationship and had gotten into an argument over a telephone call to the wife of the victim. The suspect was taken into custody for Assualt with Bodily Injury / Domestic Violence and she was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 7-06-10, at 7:54 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported to be camping out and sleeping near the north entrance to the UNB. During the investigation, the officer located the subject and after several attempts the subject finally responded to the commands. The subject informed the officer that he had never been on campus before and was unaware that he was not allowed to sleep. The officer soon discovered the subject had in fact received several prior Criminal Trespass Warnings for various locations around the University. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 7-06-10, 4:02 PM. Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 23 Alarm Calls, 1 Public Assist Request, 2 Fire Alarm Reports, 6 Malfunctioning Light Reports, and 5 Unsecured Door Reports between 07/06/10 and 07/07/10.
