Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Thursday, 07/22/10 and Friday, 07/23/10 ****New Service Brought to You by UTPD**** UTPD is happy to announce online property registration. Items with a serial number such as laptops, MP3 players, cell phones, electronics, and bikes are eligible. Registering your property is very helpful in theft investigations and in returning lost property to its rightful owner. Without identifying information, recovering stolen property is virtually impossible. Come join us on Face Book at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/utaustinpolice PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Attempted Theft: A UT student left her laptop computer and backpack unsecured on top of a study table located on the 6th floor near the southwest stairwell. As the student returned to her property, she observed an unknown male unplugging her computer and picking up her backpack. The student yelled at the subject and grabbed her property away from the suspect. The unknown subject turned and ran towards the exit door that was being held open by an second unknown subject. During the investigation, the officers searched the area and were unable to locate either suspect. The suspects were decribed as: First subject was described as a White Male, 5’-07” to 5’-09” and was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and army green shorts. The second subject was described as a White Male, 5’-11” to 6’-01” and was last seen wearing dark colored clothes. Occurred on: 7-22-10, at 6:50 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 Alarm Calls,2 Suspicious Activity Report, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 07/22/10 and 07/23/10.
