LIVING LEARNING CENTER A, 2610 Whitis Ave Theft: A silver and black Giant mountain bicycle (not the size, the brand) was stolen from the bike racks located on the east side of the complex after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred between: 8-21-10 and 8-22-10. Crime Prevention Tip: Bike thefts are one of the biggest problems faced by most UT students. At the beginning of the school year, most bike thieves begin their shopping season. In order to make it harder for a thief to become successful in taking your property consider using a two-lock locking system. The primary lock is a U-shaped lock that uses a flat key. The U-lock is used to secure your bike to the bike rack. The second lock is a self-locking cable lock. This lock is used to secure the rear tire to the bike frame. This type of locking system now requires the thief to carry two separate tools to defeat the locks in order to steal your property. PARKING LOT 103, 2100 Comal Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (4 Counts): A UT Police Officer discovered four UT students inside a black Mitsubishi that was parked in an isolated area of the lot.
