Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 10-13-10 and Friday, 10-15-10. PRATHER DORMITORY, 305 East 21st Street Theft: A blue Dawes mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a two U-lock locking system. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred between 10-13-10 and 10-14-10. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Possession of Drug Paraphernelia: A UT staff member reported a strong odor of burning marijuana coming from a 5th floor dormitory room. The officers also detected a strong odor of burned marijuana in the hallway outside one of the rooms. During the investigation, the officers identified two UT students inside the room. As the investigation progressed, the officers located two glass pipes that contained burned marijuana residue, a small plastic baggie containing green stems and seeds, as well as a Bong vaporizer. One student claimed ownership and was issued a court appearance citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernelia. Occurred on: 10-15-10, at 12:16 AM. PARLIN HALL, #2 South Mall Assault by Contact: A UT student reported an unknown subject had approached her and touched her inappropriately. The subject then suggested they take a picture together. The subject was described as: Black male, 6’-03” with broad shoulders. Subject was last seen wearing tan pants and a white shirt. Occurred on: 10-13-10, at 8:29 PM. SAN ANTONIO PARKING GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member observed a non-UT subject placing fliers on the windshields of several vehicles parked on the 5th level of the garage. During the investigation, the officers located the subject, issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted him from the area. Occurred on: 10-14-10, at 1:13 PM. 200 BLOCK WEST 7th STREET Public Intoxication: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject was staggering back and forth between her navigational beacons. The subject lost her balance several times, and had it not been for a well placed building, the subject would have fallen. During the investigation, the subject informed the officers that she was on her way to meet several friends at another bar, then drive home. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 2-14-10, at 2:15 AM. 200 BLOCK WEST 7th STREET Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed laying on his stomach on the north side of Ashbel Smith Hall. During the investigation, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and had a hard time waking him up. The subject had a difficult time standing and maintaining his balance. The officers took the subject into custody for Public Intoxication and transported him to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-13-10, at 11:00 PM. 1900 BLOCK SAN JACINTO BLVD. Assist Outside Agency: A UT student driving a silver Ibiza was seen disregarding a stop sign. During the traffic investigation, the officer soon learned the student had two outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrants for other traffic violations. The student was taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-15-10, at 3:10 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 56 Alarm Calls, 2 Fire Alarm, 3 Call Box Activation, 5 Suspicious Activity Calls, and 11 Unsecured Door Reports between 10/13/10 and 10/015/10.
