Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Thursday, 10/21/10 and Friday, 10/22/10. Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) The Behavior Concerns Advice Line (BCAL) is a partnership among the Office of the Dean of Students, Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD). BCAL provides a central resource for UT faculty, students, and staff who may have concerns about the behavior or well-being of another member of the campus community. By calling BCAL at 512-232-5050, callers may talk with trained staff members who will assist the caller in exploring available options and strategies as well as referrals to appropriate campus support networks. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A white Apple iPhone with a green cover was reported stolen from inside the 2nd floor women’s locker room while the owner was showering. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred on: 10-21-10, between 3:20 PM and 3:30 PM. PRATHER DORMITORY, 305 East 21st Street Theft: A UT staff member reported a framed wall plaque was stolen from the J section of the dormitory. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred between: 10-20-10 and 10-21-10. REC SPORTS CENTER, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd. Theft: A white Apple iPhone, UTID and a set of vehicle keys were reported stolen from the 2nd floor basketball courts. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred on: 10-21-10, 6:45 PM and 7:45 PM. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Theft: A red Ford truck parked on the 5th level of the garage was reported stolen. During the investigation, the officer learned the subject had left the driver’s side vent window open. Loss value: $10,000.00. Occurred on: 10-21-10, between 2:00 AM and 9:30 PM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Suspicious Person: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject had been seen walking through the Jackson School of Geology. The same subject was now at Walter Webb Hall attempting to sell stones that looked like those on display at JSG. During the investigation, the officer located the subject but was unable to verify if any of the stones had been reported stolen. The was issued a verbal Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 10-20-10, at 4:12 PM. 500 BLOCK DEAN KEETON Possession of Marijuana / Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon: A UT Police Officer saw a white Honda travelling at a high rate of speed through campus. During the traffic investigation, the officers saw a handgun in the center console of the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and the weapon was secured. During the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered several pounds of marijuana. The driver, a UT student was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana / Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10-21-10, at 11:14 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 Alarm Calls, 1 Medical Emergency Assist, 2 Suspicious Activity Calls, 1 Public Assist, 1 Welfare Concern Report and 1 Unsecured Door Report between 10/21/10 and 10/22/10.
