Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Monday, 11/15/10 and Tuesday, 11/16/10. ***** Administrative Message ***** The Austin Police Department released the following information to the University of Texas Police Department. Two robberies occurred in West Campus over the weekend (11-14-10) with the same MO and suspect description. In both cases, the victim was walking down the street when a white or crème colored sedan pulled up alongside of them. The suspects, described as three Black males, exited the vehicle and robbed the victims at gunpoint. You can now follow us on Twitter. @UTAustinPolice BRACKENRIDGE APARTMENTS, 3350 Lake Austin Blvd. Assist Outside Agency: A UT Police Officer discovered a soaking wet non-UT subject standing next to an emergency call box asking for assistance. During investigation, the officer learned the subject had driven his vehicle into Lady Bird Lake. The subject’s vehicle was discovered approximately 2 miles away submerged. The subject was released to the Austin Police Department for further investigation. Occurred on: 11-15-10, at 7:20 AM. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping in an established campsite next to the northeast exterior doors to be building. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 11-15-10, at 9:25 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Criminal Mischief: A UT student reported another UT student sprayed air freshener into his container of jerky then threw a chair across the room. During the investigation, the officers located the suspect and learned the suspect was having a bad day. No charges were filed, but the suspect was referred to the Dean of Student’s Office. Loss value: $60.00. Occurred on: 11-15-10, at 9:10 PM. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping inside a restricted area located on the 4th floor. During the investigation, the officer issued the subject a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted the subject from the area. Occurred on: 11-16-10, at 12:49 AM. SAN JACINTO RESIDENCE HALL, 309 East 21st Street Theft: A blue Schwinn road bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the west side building after being secured with a chain combination lock. Loss value: $110.00. Occurred between: 10-07-10 and 11-10-10. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 12 Alarm Calls, 1 Medical Emergency Assist, 3 Suspicious Activity Reports, 3 Malfunctioning Light Reports, and 2 Unsecured Door Reports between 11/15/10 and 11/16/10.
