Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 11/30/10 and Wednesday, 12/01/10. BATTS HALL, #3 South Mall Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member reported on several occasions he had discovered the first floor men’s restroom had been trashed out. The staff member stated liquid soap, water and wet paper towels had been thrown onto the floors, into several stalls as well as onto several walls. The staff member described observing two unidentified subjects exiting the restroom prior to discovery. The unknown subjects were described as: 1st subject, White male, 22 years of age, slicked back shoulder length hair. The second subject was described as: White male, 27 years of age, black hair, small mustache and stubble. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Reported on: 11-30-10, at 1:21 PM. INTRAMURAL FIELDS, 4901 Guadalupe Burglary of Motor Vehicle: An Apple iPhone, Dell lap top computer, several credit cards, two North Face backpacks, and a white leather wallet were reported stolen. Officers learned these items had been left on the back seat of a white Nissan while two students were playing tennis. When they returned, the discovered the rear passenger window had been broken out. Loss value: $1,720.00. Occurred on: 11-30-10 at 2:26 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A black and grey Giant mountain bicycle was stolen from the bike racks located on the west side of the building after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred between: 11-25-10 and 11-30-10. WEST MALL BUILDING, #3 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping on the 6th floor inside the stairwell. During the investigation, the officer escorted the subject from the building and issued him a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 11-30-10, at 8:15 PM. Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: The University of Texas Police Department would like to remind you that the thieves are not taking a break; they are watching for their opportunity to make you their next victim. There are 24 shopping days left before Christmas and the thieves are taking notice. It is easy to say, It looks like someone is getting a slightly used Apple iPhone as well as a Dell laptop computer for Christmas. In reality many crimes can be avoided by simply taking a little time to find your belongings that are inside your vehicle. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 Alarm Calls, 1 Medical Emergency Assist, and 1 Fire Alarm Activation 11/30/10 and 12/01/10.
