Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 12/15/10 and Thursday, 12/16/10. ***** ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE ***** It is that time of the year that most reader look forward to. We are beginning to put together the top 10 entries for the “Best Of” for 2010. Please submit your favorite Campus Watch entry(s) by December 21st. ***** ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE ***** Due to the upcoming Holiday Break, the University of Texas Police Department would like to remind all Alarm Administrators to update their alarm information by December 20, 2010. Thank you for your assistance. COMMUNICATIONS BUILDING-A, 2504-A Whitis Ave Theft: Two Apple laptop computers were reported stolen after two UT students checked them out and failed to return them. Loss value: $1,400.00. Reported on: 12-15-10. JOHN HARGIS HALL, 1811 Red River Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject was hanging around on the east side of the building. The staff member observed the subject removing cigarette butts from ashtrays. The officers located the subject and issued him a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted him from the area. Occurred on: 12-15-10, at 12:09 PM. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Criminal Trespass Warning: Two non-UT subjects were reported to be walking through the parking garage. Officers located the subjects on the west side of the building. One subject informed the officers they were on their way to the hospital. During the interview, a Texas Department of Public Safety officer arrived on the scene and informed the officers his department had just dealt with both subjects inside another parking garage. The officers issued both subjects written Criminal Trespass Warnings and escorted them from the area. Occurred on: 12-15-10, at 6:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 10 Alarm Calls, 1 Fire Call, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, 3 Light Malfunction, and 2 Unsecured Doors reports between 12/15/10 and 12/16/10.
