Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Friday, 01/14/11 and Tuesday, 01/18/11. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject reported he had been kicked in the back of his head several times by an intoxicated subject. During the investigation, the officer located the subject and detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath. The subject displayed several signs of intoxication. The officer learned the subject was with a large group of friends that were celebrating a birthday. None of the friends were willing to leave and take care of their intoxicated companion. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 1-15-11, at 10:30 PM. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River Public Intoxication: Several non-UT subjects reported that a subject sitting in section 34 had exhibited several extreme physical reaction to the over consumption of alcohol. The officer learned the subject had covered a wide area during several of his extreme physical reactions. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 1-14-11, at 10:13 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (9 Counts): A UT staff member discovered nine UT students inside an 8th floor dormitory room. During the Housing And Food investigation all nine students were uncooperative and refused to comply. Once the Hall Coordinator notified the Police Department, she began receiving all types of cooperation from the students. All nine students were identified as the poured out their alcohol. All nine students received a referral to the Dean of Students from H&F. Occurred on: 1-16-11, at 1:31 AM. PARKING LOT 115, 1600 East 20th Street Burglary of Motor Vehicle (2 Counts): A UT student reported the passenger windows on two different vehicles were broken out. The vehicles were identified as a 1997 Acura and a 1991 Toyota. During the investigation, the officer was able to contact the owner Acura and learned no personal property was missing. The owner of the Toyota identified an Acer computer monitor had been removed from the vehicle. Estimated damage: $300.00. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred between 1-13-11 and 1-17-11. PERRYCASTENADA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject walked past a UT student and indicated to the student her number one standing. The student found the hand gesture to be offensive and reported the incident to the library staff. During the investigation, the officers located the subject and issued him a written Criminal Trespass Warning after the library staff revoked his privileges. Occurred on: 1-14-11, at 10:00 AM. ROBERT L. MOORE HALL, 2515 Speedway Theft: A non-UT subject approached an officer and wanted to report his bicycle had been stolen. The responding officer recognized the subject as a known offender. During the investigation, the officer remember the subject had been in possession of a number of UT keys for different buildings on campus. The officer asked the subject for consent to search him and discovered the subject was again in possession of 16 different UT keys. The subject was taken into custody for Theft. Occurred on: 1-14-11, at 8:45 AM. SAN ANTONIO PARKING GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Criminal Mischief: A UT Police Officer discovered the control arm for the east exit gate had been broken off. Estimated loss: $150.00. Discovered on: 1-15-11, at 7:22 AM. UNIVERSITY POLICE BUILDING, 2201 Robert Dedman Dr. Harassment: A UT student reported receiving several harassing and annoying emails from a former boyfriend and his wife over the course of several months. The student stated she had asked her ex-boyfriend and his wife to stop all communication. Reported on 1-17-11, at 5:51 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 53 Alarm Calls, 1 Call Box Activation, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, 4 Suspicious Persons Reports, 12 Malfunctioning Lights, and 19 Unsecured Door reports between 01/14/11 and 01/18/11.
