Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 02/08/11 and Wednesday, 02/09/11. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Suspicious Person: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject was being very disruptive inside the library. The subject was ranting and raving while displaying his ability to conjugate four letter words. The responding officers located the subject as he was heading towards Jester Dormitory. During the investigation, the subject informed the officers that he was simply, “having a bad day.” The subject informed the officers that he did hear voices, but the voices were always positive and encouraging. The subject was issued a verbal Criminal Trespass Warning and was released at the scene. Occurred on: 2-08-11, at 11:10 AM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Trespass / Resisting Arrest / Public Intoxication / Assist Outside Agency: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject was being very belligerent towards staff members. The subject was discovered inside the 2nd floor men’s restroom passed out inside one of the stalls. The officers recognized the subject from prior involvement. The subject had a very strong odor of alcohol on his person and displayed other signs of intoxication. When the officers informed the subject he was under arrest, the subject began resisting the officers. The subject was taken into custody. Due to his intoxication level, Austin EMS was notified to treat the subject at the scene. Austin EMS transported the subject to a local area hospital. After being released from the hospital, the subject was transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement actions taken, the subject was issued another Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 2-08-11, at 5:10 PM. 200 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Assist Outside Agency: A UT student was stopped on a traffic violation. During the traffic investigation, the officer learned the subject had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant for Riding a Bicycle on a Sidewalk. The student was taken into custody for the warrant and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 2-08-11, at 4:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 Alarm Calls, 1 Fire Alarm, 6 Burned Out Lights, 3 Suspicious Activity reports, and 3 Unsecured Door reports between 02/08/11 and 02/09/11.
