Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 02/16/11 and Thursday, 2/17/11. ALMETRIS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Suspicious Person: A UT student observed an unknown subject inside the bike racks located on the northeast side of the building. The student stated it appeared the subject was cutting off a self-locking cable lock. The officers searched the area and were unable to locate the subject. Occurred on: 2-16-11, at 5:20 PM. Crime Prevention Tip: I wish the officers had located this subject. If they had, I would now be making arrangements with this student to deliver her a free pizza. If you are interested in getting your own free pizza, keep a watchful eye on the bike racks around campus. When you spot a thief cutting a lock or pulling on the locks, report that activity to the police department. That phone call could earn you a free pizza. Since the beginning of this semester there have been a total of 36 reported stolen bikes. 30 more than what had been reported during the same time frame last year.
