Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 02/23/11 and Thursday, 02/24/11. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Theft: A UT student reported his Apple laptop stolen. During the investigation, the officer learned the computer had been left unsecured and unattended inside a 2nd floor restroom. Loss value: $1,700.00. Occurred on: 2-23-11, between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM. 300 BLOCK WEST 24th STREET Suspicious Person: A UT student reported an unknown subject driving a white Acura stopped and began taking pictures of him. The student stated the subject drove towards the Turtle Pond and began repeating the same behavior with other students walking in the area. Occurred on: 2-23-11, at 10:37 PM. Crime Prevention Tip of the Day: As you may have seen on the television, the Austin Police Department and the Greater Austin Crime Commission have partnered up and will be participating in the Guns for Groceries program on 2-26-11. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 16 Alarm Calls, 1 Call Box Alarm, 2 Suspicious Persons Reports, 2 EMS calls, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 02/23/11 and 02/24/11.
