Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 03/15/11 and Wednesday, 03/16/11. ***** ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE ***** As you have seen over the last few days there has been an increase in the number of Burglary of Motor Vehicles parked all over campus. The UT Police Department would like to remind everyone to hide all of your valuables inside the vehicle. Do not leave GPS mounts in plain view. Common items being taken include loose change inside the ashtray or cup holder. Remove all unnecessary items like loose change from your vehicle. The UT Police Department would like to encourage everyone to report suspicious activity you see near or within the parking lots and parking garages. 200 BLOCK WEST 7th STREET Graffiti: Words written in red marker were discovered on the northwest exterior wall of the Lavaca Building. Estimated repair: $50.00. Discovered on: 3-16-11, at 5:34 AM. 600 BLOCK COLORADO STREET Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was discovered passed out on the steps of the O`Henry Hall. The subject was disoriented and did not know where he was. He had trouble trying to sit up and communicate with the officers. The officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted other signs of intoxication. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 3-15-11, at 11:54 PM. 2100 BLOCK RED RIVER Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT student was observed staggering back and forth as he attempted to walk parallel to a busy roadway. During the investigation, the officer detected a moderate odor of alcohol on the student’s breath. The student informed the officer that he had consumed a can of Four Loco and the Four Loco was affecting his balance and not the alcohol he had consumed earlier in the night. The officer issued the student a court appearance citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor after the officer learned the student was under the legal age of 21. Occurred on: 3-16-11, at 1:12 AM. Commentary: Many of you, not the students, may be wondering what is Four Loco. Four Loco is an alcoholic beverage that also contains many of the same ingredients of an energy drink. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 14 Alarm Calls, 2 Call Box Alarms, 2 Welfare Concerns, 2 Suspicious Persons Reports, and 2 Unsecured Door Reports between 03/15/11 and 03/16/11.
