Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 03/29/11 and Wednesday, 3/30/11. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A brown leather wallet containing $23.00 in cash, personal identification and several credit cards along with an Apple iPhone were reported stolen. During the investigation, the officer learned the victim had placed his unsecured property next to the bleachers while he was playing basketball. Loss value: $178.00. Occurred on: 3-29-11. MUSIC RECITAL HALL, 2405 Trinity Theft: An Apple iPhone was reported stolen after being left inside an unsecured 6th floor office. Loss value: $425.00. Occurred on: 3-29-11, between 12:35 PM and 12:50 PM. 100 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Burglary of Motor Vehicle / Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject had entered into PCL and bragged that he had taken a piece of copper piping from inside a UT vehicle. The subject then turned around and left the building. Officers responding to the area located the subject a short distance away. The subject was still in possession of a 14” piece of copper pipe. During the investigation, the officers soon discovered the subject had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody for the warrant and was transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement actions taken the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. The Burglary of Motor Vehicle case is still under investigation. Occurred on: 3-29-11, at 10:46 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 19 Alarm Calls, 2 Suspicious Persons Reports, 6 Malfunctioning Lights, and 5 Unsecured Door Reports between 03/29/11 and 03/30/11.
