Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 3/30/11 and Thursday, 03/31/11. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft (3 Counts): Three UT students reported the following items stolen: A blue Duke University backpack containing an Android cellular phone, blue IPod Touch, black leather Duke wallet, $80.00 in cash, personal identification, black HTC HD2 cellular phone, and a black Apple iPhone. During the investigation, the officer learned these items had been left unattended while all three were playing basketball. Loss value: $550.00. Occurred on: 3-30-11, between 6:15 PM and 6:35 PM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A black backpack containing a silver Asus laptop computer and a textbook was reported stolen after being left unsecured and unattended next to the basketball courts. Loss value: $530.00. Occurred on: 3-29-11, between 10:30 PM and 11:59 PM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Fraud: A UT staff member reported she was notified that four fraudulent checks had been created on an account that was under the control of the Law School. During the investigation, the officer learned all of the checks had been passed to several business located in the Austin area. Loss value: $6,836.45. Discovered on: 3-30-11. 2100 BLOCK SPEEDWAY Theft: A black Specialized mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of NHB after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred on: 3-29-11, between 10:40 AM and 9:30 PM. 2300 BLOCK INNER CAMPUS DRIVE Theft: A silver Specialized mountain bicycle was reported stolen after being secured to a pole with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $150.00. Occurred between: 3-22-11 and 3-30-11. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 15 Alarm Calls, 1 EMS call,1 Suspicious Person Report, 2 Malfunctioning Lights, and 7 Unsecured Door Reports between 03/30/11 and 03/31/11.
