Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Friday, 04/01/11 and Monday. 04/04/11. DISCH-FALK FIELD, 1300 Martin Luther King Blvd. Assault / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject entered into a restricted area and removed a broom in order to celebrate. Several UT staff members told the subject to return the broom and do not attempt to get it again. At the end of the game, the same subject again entered into a restricted area and removed a broom. A UT staff member, standing in the doorway informed the subject to put the broom back and to exit the area. The subject pushed the staff member into wall and walked out carrying the broom. During the investigation, the subject was issued a court appearance citation for Assault. After his third strike, the subject was thrown out of the game after being issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 4-03-11, at 2:45 PM. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 East 21st Street Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT staff member discovered a UT student sitting inside the women’s restroom starring into a pool which she had created after having an extreme physical reaction to the over consumption of alcohol. During the investigation, the officers located the student after another student assisted her in getting to her dormitory room. The officers detected a moderate odor of alcohol on the student’s breath and learned she had been to a party. The student was referred to the Dean of Student’s office. Occurred on: 4-03-11, at 4:00 AM. LAVACA BUILDING, 220 Lavaca Graffiti: A picture of an animal riding a rocking horse along with words written in purple paint was discovered on the north side of the building. Estimated repair: $100.00. Discovered on: 4-02-11, at 3:17 AM. RED & CHARLINE MCCOMBS FIELD, 2001 Comal Graffiti: A word written in red paint was discovered on the entry door leading into the batting cage. Loss value: $50.00. Discovered on: 4-03-11, at 5:13 PM. 100 BLOCK WEST DEAN KEETON Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was discovered attempting to practice the Standardized Field Sobriety tests as he was seen swaying back and forth with walking down the center yellow strip, of the roadway, heel to toe. During the investigation, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted other signs of intoxication. The officers allowed the subject to call his wife to take care custody and control of him. Occurred on: 4-02-11, at 2:40 AM. 200 BLOCK EAST DEAN KEETON Graffiti: Words written in black spray paint were discovered on two retaining walls. The unknown author informed all of the students they were all just another brick in the Wall Street. Estimated repair: $300.00. Discovered on: 4-01-11, at 9:10 PM. 200 BLOCK WEST 21st STREET Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT Police Officer observed a UT student bent over a concrete retaining wall providing alcohol enriched compost to the surrounding landscape. The student informed the officers he had been to a party on 22nd Street and had consumed 5 beers while there. The officer soon learned the student was under the legal age of 21 and issued him a court appearance citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Occurred on: 4-03-11, at 3:12 AM. 600 BLOCK COLORADO Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member discovered a non-UT sleeping on the south side of the building in an established campsite. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted from the area after he struck down his campsite. Occurred on: 4-02-11, at 3:35 AM. 600 BLOCK LAVACA Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was discovered passed out inside her vehicle. The officer had a very hard time getting the subject to wake up. Once the subject was awake, she waved at the officer and stated she was okay and began looking for her vehicle keys. The officer requested the subject to exit her vehicle and noted her unsure balance once she stepped onto the sidewalk. The officer also detected a very strong odor of alcohol on her breath and noted her red bloodshot eyes. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 4-02-11, at 2:14 AM. 800 BLOCK DEAN KEETON Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was reported to have been passed out in the grassy area. During the investigation, the officer soon learned the subject had two outstanding Outside Agency arrests warrants. The subject was taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 4-01-11, at 9:18 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 70 Alarm Calls, 2 EMS calls,2 Suspicious Person Reports 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, , 2 Malfunctioning Lights, and 19 Unsecured Door Reports between 04/01/11 and 04/04/11.
