Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Monday, 04/18/11 and Tuesday, 04/19/11. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A black Apple iPod was reported stolen after being left unattended and unsecure on the bleachers next to the basketball courts. During the investigation, the officers learned the victim was attempting to keep an eye on his property while he was playing. Loss value: $75.00. Occurred on: 4-18-11, between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A brown leather wallet and a silver Apple iPhone were stolen after being left unattended on the bleachers next to the basketball courts. Loss value: $160.00. Occurred on: 4-18-11, at 11:46 PM. 100 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Assault: A UT staff member reported two subjects were involved in an argument outside of the PCL library. During the investigation, the officers located one of the subjects and learned he had been assaulted by his son, a current UT student. The suspect had already left the area. As the investigation continued, the officers were able to locate the suspect and took him into custody. The officer soon learned the suspect was in need of medical assistance and transported him to a local area hospital. Occurred on: 4-18-11, at 9:45 PM. 200 BLOCK INNER CAMPUS DRIVE Suspicious Person: An unknown subject approached a UT student and asked him where all the parties and sorority houses were located. The student stated the subject was carrying a plastic bag that contained what looked like a bottle of tequila. After being pointed in the right direction, the unknown subject was last seen walking towards the West Campus area. The student thought about the encounter and notified the UT Police Department. The unknown subject was described as: White male, short cropped “buzz cut” hair, wearing a black shirt and plaid shorts. Occurred on: 4-19-11, at 1:21 AM. 2000 BLOCK LEON Graffiti: Nondescript markings were discovered spray painted along a 50 foot section of chain link fence. Estimated damage: $200.00. Discovered on: 4-19-11, at 5:04 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 17 Alarm Calls, 2 Suspicious Person Reports, 1 Suspicious Activity Reports, and 1 Unsecured Door Report between 04/18/11 and 04/19/11.
