Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 05/04/11 and Thursday, 05/05/11. ***** ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGES ***** Due to international events, Law Enforcement asks that individuals be vigilant and report suspicious behavior. While there are NO SPECIFIC threats, you are encouraged to be attentive & observant, particularly in public places. Around 12:45 AM two Hispanic males robbed a female at gunpoint near the Brazos garage. No one was hurt. They were headed east on MLK when last seen. The suspects are described as heavy set, one wearing a hat and red shirt, the other wearing a hat and white shirt driving a dark colored Honda Accord. HARRY RANSOM CENTER, 300 West 21st Street Graffiti: Words written in blue marker were discovered inside a first floor men’s restroom. Estimated repair: $50.00. Discovered on: 5-05-11, at 4:41 AM. ROBERT L. MOORE HALL, 2515 Speedway Graffiti: Letters written in silver indelible marker were discovered on the fire pull station located on the fifth floor. Estimated repair: $50.00. Discovered on: 5-05-11, at 4:55 AM. Crime Prevention Tip: There has been an increase in the number of reported incidents of Graffiti. Not many suspects understand that the University of Texas is an institution of higher learning therefore the charge of Graffiti is enhanced to a State Jail Felony. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Theft: A UT student reported leaving her bag unsecured and unattended at a table located on the 2nd floor. The bag was recovered inside a 2nd floor men’s restroom. The student discovered her wallet containing personal identification, several credit cards and $80.00 in cash as well as her cell phone where stolen. Loss value: $205.00. Occurred on: 5-04-11, between 12:55 PM and 1:00 PM. UNIVERSITY TEACHING CENTER, 105 West 21st Street Harassment: A UT student reported receiving unwanted emails, text messages and telephone calls from another UT student. During the investigation, the officer learned the victim had informed the suspect to stop all communications, but the suspect continued. Occurred on: 5-04-11, at 10:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 32 Alarm Calls, 2 Call Box Alarms, 2 EMS Calls, 3 Suspicious Person Report, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, and 2 Unsecured Door Reports between 05/04/11 and 05/05/11.
