Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Monday, 05/16/11 and Tuesday, 05/17/11. AT&T CONFERENCE CENTER, 1900 University Ave Theft: A metal video camera mount was reported stolen after being left unattended inside the ballroom during an event. During the investigation, the officer learned the victim had seen a suspicious person standing next to the camera mount, also filming the event. The subject had a bizarre filming technique and her crew was not familiar with the subject. The unknown subject was described as: White male, 5’-11”, stocky build, last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 5-16-11, between 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM. LITTLEFIELD CARRIGE HOUSE, 2410 Whitis Ave Assist Outside Agency: A UT Police Officer observed a non-UT subject utilizing the brick wall as a public restroom. During the investigation, the officers soon learned the subject had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 5-16-11, at 8:54 PM. 100 BLOCK INNER CAMPUS DRIVE Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT Police Officer observed a UT student walk up to a strand of “DO NOT ENTER” tape and begin ripping it down. During the investigation, the officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the student’s breath and soon learned he was under the legal age of 21. The student was issued a court appearance citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Prior to being released at the scene, the student tied the broken strands of “DO NOT ENTER” tape back together. Occurred on: 5-17-11, at 2:40 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 28 Alarm Calls, 1 EMS Call, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Suspicious Person Reports, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 05/16/11 and 05/17/11.
