Report for 05/18/2011

Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 05/17/11 and Wednesday, 05/18/11. ALMETRIS DUREN HALL, 2624 Whitis Ave Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT student approached a UT staff member in order to check in a guest. As the staff member was checking in the student’s guest, the student reached over the counter and grabbed his ID from the staff member and walked his guest into the building. During the investigation, the officers located the student and his guest. The officers informed the student his guest was not checked in and needed to leave. The student became very aggressive towards the officers and informed the officers that he was going to make a stand. The officers again explained the situation to the student and informed him the best option would be to talk to Housing and Food the next day instead of taking on two police officers. The officers escorted the guest out of the building and issued her a Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 5-18-11, at 12:48 AM. Crime Prevention Tip: If you have not noticed, the University of Texas at Austin is very busy getting ready for this weekend’s graduation ceremonies and commencement.
