Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Friday, 05/20/11 and Monday, 05/23/11. INTRAMUREL FIELDS, 4901 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning (2 Counts): A UT Police Officer discovered two non-UT subjects sitting in a grassy area inside the archery range. The subjects informed the officers they had come to the area to talk. Both subjects were issued Criminal Trespass Warnings and escorted from the area. Occurred on: 5-22-11, at 2:47 AM. PAINTER HALL, 103 West 24th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping inside a dumpster enclosure. The subject insisted he had not been sleeping but was simply resting. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 5-21-11, at 7:47 AM. TOWNES HALL, 727 East Dean Keeton Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A UT Police Officer observed a known offender walking near the Law School. The subject matched the description of an assault suspect. During the investigation, the subject admitted to grabbing a student on campus. The officer soon learned the subject had two outstanding warrants and was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement actions taken, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 5-21-11, at 5:30 PM. 100 BLOCK EAST 21st STREET Theft: A green Novara mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the north side of PCL after being secured with a self-locking cable lock. Loss value: $300.00. Occurred between: 5-21-11 and 5-22-11. 700 BLOCK EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD. Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed bent over while staggering back and forth. During the investigation, the officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted the subject’s pants were unzipped. As the investigation continued, the officers noted other signs of intoxication. The subject was confused as to his location as well as the day of the week. The subject believed it was Tuesday and that he was coming from “Hinchey.” The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 5-22-11, at 1:10 AM. 2400 BLOCK GUADALUPE Public Intoxication: A UT Police Officer discovered a non-UT subject passed out on the sidewalk. After having his sternum rubbed, the subject awakened. The subject quickly informed the officer that he was walking home, from Austin to Austin The transporting elixir caused the subject to change his story. He stated was walking from Dallas to Austin. The officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted other signs of intoxication. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 5-23-11, at 2:29 AM. 2500 BLOCK GUADALUPE Public Intoxication / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was discovered passed out in the parking lot of a local business. The officers noted several empty beer cans laying near the subject. After several attempts the officers were able to wake the subject up. The officers detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted other signs of intoxication. The subject was unable to stand or maintain his balance when the officers assisted him to his feet. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. During the investigation, the officers learned the subject had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant….Nope, Alcohol Prohibited in City Areas. Occurred on: 5-23-11, at 12:09 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 56 Alarm Calls, 3 EMS Calls, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, 3 Suspicious Person Reports, and 19 Unsecured Door Reports between 05/20/11 and 05/23/11.
