Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Wednesday, 06/01/11 and Thursday, 06/02/11. BELMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Blvd. Criminal Trespass: A UT staff member reported observing a non-UT subject walking into offices and opening desk drawers located on the 10th floor. During the investigation, the officers located the subject inside the 9th floor locker room preparing to take a shower. The officers also learned the subject had been arrested in a prior theft case. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued additional Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 6-01-11, at 9:00 AM. GREGORY GYM, 2101 Speedway Theft: An Apple iPhone was reported stolen after being left unattended next to the basketball courts located on the 3rd floor. Loss value: $550.00. Occurred on: 6-01-11, between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. INTRAMURAL FIELDS, 4901 Guadalupe Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A UT Police Officer discovered the rear window of a black VW Jetta broken out. A UT student was standing next to the vehicle and informed the officer her black 32 gig IPod, IPod charger and a cellular telephone charger had been taken. Loss value: $370.00. Occurred on: 6-01-11, between 5:15 Pm and 5:25 PM. MCCOMBS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, 2110 Speedway Suspicious Person: An unknown subject walked into an occupied 7th floor office, looked around then walked out. The staff member stated the subject did not speak to anyone, but turned and left the area. The responding officers searched the area with negative results. The unknown subject was described as: Black male, mid 20’s, 6’-0”, thin build with dreadlocks. The subject was last seen wearing a ball cap, black pants and was carrying a backpack and a towel. Occurred on: 6-01-11, at 8:49 AM. WALTER WEBB HALL, 2500 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non- UT subject was discovered hanging out inside the parking area of WWH. The subject informed the officer that he was getting out of the sun and was resting. The officer learned the subject was not a UT employee or student. The subject was not an invited guest, nor did he have official business at the University of Texas. While the subject rested, the officer issued the subject a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted him from the area. Occurred on: 6-01-11, at 4:30 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 18 Alarm Calls, 1 Callbox Alarm, 2 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Suspicious Person Report, 2 Burned out Light reports, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 06/01/11 and 06/02/11.
