NORTH OFFICE BUILDING, 101 East 27th Street Suspicious Activity: An unknown subject approached a UT staff member and began asking probing personal questions in a vain attempt to collect personal information. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve turquoise shirt and jeans. Occurred on: 6-06-11, at 1:23 PM. Crime Prevention Tip: What do you do when someone is asking personal questions that make you feel uncomfortable? Many times we have talked about having a plan of action for every aspect of life and the events we might encounter. This is one of those events. If you can walk away, walk away. If not, use your cellular telephone to contact the police. 200 BLOCK EAST DEAN KEETON Burglary of Motor Vehicle: A UT staff member discovered an unknown subject had siphoned off a quarter tank of gasoline from a UT vehicle. Loss value: $20.00. Occurred between: 6-03-11 and 6-06-11. Crime Prevention Tip: With the high cost of fuel, this type of crime is beginning to make a comeback. A very simple recommendation is to purchase a locking fuel cap. 2200 BLOCK INNER CAMPUS DRIVE Criminal Mischief: A UT staff member discovered an unknown subject or subjects had attempted to remove a portion of a public works art piece. During the investigation, the officers observed a petroleum based lubricant had been applied to a anchoring bolt and one of two spheres had been moved a short distance. Estimated damage: $200.00. Discovered on: 6-06-11, at 11:15 AM. 2600 BLOCK GUADALUPE Driving While Intoxicated: A UT Police Officer observed a black Ford vehicle travelling without its headlamps illuminated run through a red light intersection without stopping.
