Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 06/07/11 and Wednesday, 06-08-11. ***** ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE ***** The University of Texas Police Department would like to remind everyone the Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally is this weekend. With the increased number of motorcycles on the streets this weekend, take a second look when changing lanes or turning. WELCH HALL, 105 East 24th Street Theft: A non-UT subject reported his 10k gold class ring had been stolen from inside a 4th floor men’s restroom. During the investigation, the officers learned the subject had removed his ring to wash his hands. The subject “quickly” returned after about 20 minutes to collect his wayward property, only to discover it was missing. The property was described as having the number 12 and a shield on one side and the letters A&M on the other. Loss value: $1,000.00. Occurred on: 5-26-11. 2500 BLOCK UNIVERSITY AVE Suspicious Activity: A UT student observed a group of five subjects, three males and two females, they had in their possession a small monkey as well as a Labrador Retriever. The student began petting the monkey, at which time the monkey turned and bit her on the hand. Occurred on: 6-7-11. Crime Prevention Tip: Be aware of your surroundings. Be aware of those that are around you. And be aware that animals do bite. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 Alarm Calls, 1 Callbox Alarm, 1 Fire Call, 1 Suspicious Activity Report1 Burned out Light report, and 4 Unsecured Door Reports between 06/07/11 and 06/08/11.
