Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 06/28/11 and Wednesday, 06/29/11. * * * * * * SCAM ALERT * * * * * Several UT employees, including yours truly received an email this morning warning everyone that your mailbox was almost full. The email then directed you to a website to verify your account. This is a phishing scam. The senders of these types of emails are attempting to capture your personal information. AT&T CONFERENCE CENTER, 1900 University Ave Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member discovered a non-UT subject, who was habitation-ally challenged, sleeping in an established a campsite on the southwest corner of the building. During the investigation, the subject informed the officers he was waiting for breakfast to be served at the church across from the AT&T Conference Center. The subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the property. Occurred on: 6-29-11, at 4:06 AM. AT&T CONFERENCE CENTER PARKING GARAGE, 1900 University Ave Theft: The front license plate to a white colored Ford SUV was reported stolen after being parked inside the garage. Loss value: $5.00. Occurred between 6-24-11 and 6-26-11. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A UT staff member discovered a non-UT subject inside a restricted area of building. During the investigation, the officers located the subject. The subject informed the officers that he was simply hanging out in the building. The officers soon learned the subject had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant for a Parole Violation. The subject was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. In addition to the law enforcement actions taken, the subject was issued a written Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 6-28-11, at 6:00 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 16 Alarm Calls, 1 Medical Emergency Call, 1 Welfare Concern, 3 Suspicious Activity reports, 1 Suspicious Person report, and 3 Unsecured Door Reports between 06/28/11 and 06/29/11.
