Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department between Tuesday, 07/05/11 and Wednesday, 07/06/11. COMMUNICATION BUILDING B, 2504-B Whitis Ave Criminal Trespass: A UT staff member reported a non-UT subject had been inside a 1st floor men’s rest room for an extended period of time. During the investigation, the officers located the subject still inside the rest room. The officers soon learned the subject had received several prior written Criminal Trespass Warnings for a multitude of buildings on campus. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 7-5-11, at 10:00 AM. ERNEST COCKRELL HALL, 301 East Dean Keeton Criminal Trespass Warning / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was discovered sleeping inside a restricted area. During the investigation, the officer discovered the subject had been issued a prior written Criminal Trespass Warning as well as having an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 7-05-11, 11:04 AM. GOLDSMITH HALL, #5 West Mall Criminal Trespass Warning: UT Police Officers responded to the courtyard on a report of two non-UT subjects sleeping in an established campsite. The subjects had brought with them several pieces of cardboard to sleep on. During the investigation, the officers located both subjects and issued them a written Criminal Trespass Warning and escorted them from the area. Occurred on: 7-05-11, at 7:02 AM. GREGORY GYM, 2109 Speedway Criminal Trespass Warning: A REC Sports staff member observed a non-UT subject attempt to enter the building without purchasing a day pass. During the investigation, the officers located the subject inside one of the 3rd floor gyms. The subject explained to the officers he was there to play basketball with his friends. The officers explained to the subject, they were there because he had committed a criminal act. The subject was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and was escorted from the area. Occurred on: 7-05-11, at 7:23 PM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Criminal Trespass / Assist Outside Agency: A UT staff member observed a known offender walking around talking to himself. During the investigation, the officers located the subject and confirmed the subject had been issued a prior written Criminal Trespass Warning for the area. The subject was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass. Prior to being transported to Central Booking, the officers were informed the subject had several Outside Agency arrest warrants. In addition to the law enforcement actions taken, the subject was issued another Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on: 7-05-11, at 4:28 PM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, the University of Texas Police Department responded to 17 Alarm Calls, 1 EMS call, 1 Suspicious Activity Report, 2 Suspicious Person Reports, and 1 Unsecured Door Report between 07/05/11 and 07/06/11.
