LITTLEFIELD FOUNTAIN, 200 BLOCK West 21st Street Assist Outside Agency: A UT Police Officer responded to a report of several subjects swimming inside the fountain. During the investigation, the officers located the subjects, (all UT students) still wet, standing near the fountain. As the investigation continued, the officer learned one student had an outstanding Outside Agency arrest warrant. The student was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. All of these students and those in the future will have an opportunity to discuss their “swimming hole” choice with the Dean of Students. Occurred on: 8-31-11, at 3:22 AM. 1800 BLOCK GUADALUPE Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed taking an 18-pack of beer from a local convenience store. During the investigation, the officer located the suspect behind the store drinking “a cold one.” The officer detected a very strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath and noted other signs of intoxication. However the officer did not locate the missing 18-pack of beer. The subject was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and was transported to Central Booking. No charges for Theft were filed. Occurred on: 8-30-11, at 10:30 PM. 2800 BLOCK GUADALUPE Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Marijuana: A UT Police Officer observed a white Chevy truck operating while displaying its emergency flashers. The officer then observed the vehicle being operated erratically. During the traffic investigation, the officer noted the driver had a dazed and confused look on his face. When asked for his Driver’s License, the driver removed his college ID card and handed it to the officer. The officer did not detect any odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath, but did note his pupils were dilated. The officer administered the Standardized Field Sobriety tests to the driver. The driver displayed a number of clues that indicated he was intoxicated. The driver was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated. During an inventory search of the subject’s vehicle, the officers located an open prescription bottle containing 31 tablets of Alprazolam. The medication was prescribed to another individual other than the driver. Inside a glove box, officers discovered a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance that later tested positive for Marijuana. The subject was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Marijuana and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 8-31-11, at 3:32 AM.
