In recognition of Bike Month, Parking and Transportation is having Bike to UT Day on 5-02-12. As we can see the bike thieves are also participating by stealing three bicycles. Yes one thief was caught. If you are planning on bringing your property to campus remember others are coveting your possessions. We recommend using a two-lock locking system. Your primary lock is a U-shaped lock. This lock will secure the bike frame to the bike rack. Not the front tire to the rack. Your secondary lock is a self-locking cable lock. This lock will be used to secure the rear tire to the bike frame. This locking system forces the thief to carry two separate tools in order to be successful. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 21 Alarm Calls, 2 Suspicious Activity reports, 2 Suspicious Person reports, 2 unsecured door report, between 05/01/12 and 05/02/12.
