ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE Report bias incidents that you experience or witness to CCRT (Campus Climate Response Team) online at http://www.utexas.edu/diversity/ccrt 2100 GUADALUPE STREET Public Intoxication: A UT Police Officer observed a UT Student walking in the 2100 block of Guadalupe Street with wet stains on the front and back of his pants. The subject was swaying from side to side and eventually fell into a parked vehicle. The UT Police Officer stopped the subject and had him sit against a wall to assist with balance. The subject stated that he had been, “drinking alone, and a female spilled a drink on the front of his pants.” He also stated that, “his brother in-law purposely spilled a drink on his pants.” To provide further confusion the subject stated, “He had just arrived home” followed by “he was on his way home.” So, who’s on first? Or, was it the chicken before the egg? I don’t know? After a failed attempt to contact a sober friend, the subject was arrest for Public Intoxication and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 09/06/13, at 1:50 AM. 2100 GUADALUPE STREET Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT Police Officer observed two UT Students in the 2100 block of Guadalupe and one of the subjects was displaying his previously consumed dinner on the ground. The UT Police Officer returned approximately fifteen minutes later and experienced “déjà vu” when he saw the same subject vomiting in the same location. As a welfare concern, the UT Police Officer stopped and spoke with the subjects. The non-vomiting subject stated his friend, “had consumed too much alcohol and was feeling ill.” The vomiting subject stated he was “ok” and produced a wallet with identification upon the UT Police Officer’s request. Prior to grabbing the wallet, the UT Police Officer asked the subject to sit on the curb due to his difficulty balancing. The vomiting subject did his best David Copperfield impersonation as he quickly performed a slight of hand magic trick by placing his wallet into his back pocket before sitting on the curb. Following his now you see it, now you don’t performance the subject adamantly denied having a license or a wallet. Once the show was over, the UT Police Officer obtained both subject’s driver’s licenses and found that they were both under the legal drinking age of twenty-one. Both subjects were issued citations for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor and released to a sober friend that later arrived on scene. Occurred on: 09/06/13, at 1:05 AM.
