Occurred on: 10/20/13, at 1:10 PM. 2400 TRINITY STREET Graffiti, Criminal Mischief: A UT Student reported seeing Texas A&M themed markings made in white spray paint on the tiger statue near the Texas Memorial Museum. Additional markings were found around the Doty Fine Arts, Thompson Conference Center, LBJ Library and Performing Arts Center areas. All of the additional markings were made in maroon and white spray paint. Coincidentally the Texas A&M football team had a devastating loss to the Auburn Tigers earlier the same day. Unlike the Texas A&M loss, these blemishes found on campus can and will be removed as soon as possible. Estimated Removal Cost: $525.00 Occurred on: 10/20/13, at 4:49 AM. 200 EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD Speeding, Disregard Stop Sign, Evading Arrest or Detention: A UT Police Officer saw a vehicle traveling north bound in the 1900 block of San Jacinto. The vehicle disregarded two stop signs and exceeded the speed limit by 30 MPH, while traveling north on Robert Dedman. Once stopped, the driver stated he was, “spooked from having received a traffic citation two weeks prior.” The driver’s spooky Halloween fears came true early this year, as the UT Police Officer issued him two citations for Speeding and Disregarding a Stop Sign, prior to releasing him from the scene. Occurred on: 10/20/13, at 3:06 AM. PERRY CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 EAST 21ST STREET Theft: Two UT Students reported their backpacks as stolen from the 1st and 5th floors of the Perry Castaneda Library. BRAZOS GARAGE, 200 EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING BLVD Possession of Alcohol by a Minor: An alert Parking and Transportation employee observed a gold Lexus parked in the Brazos garage with a subject passed out in the driver seat while the vehicle was running. A UT Police Officer arrived on scene and saw a Non-UT male subject sleeping in the driver seat and an unopened 6 pack of Corona beer riding shotgun. A faint odor of burnt marijuana was detected and a smell of alcohol was coming from the subject’s breath. An ID not belonging to the subject was found in his wallet. The subject admitted that the ID was his, “drinking ID and he did not know there was anything wrong with having one.” The UT Police Officer explained to the subject that the only thing wrong with having two ID’s is that it is against the law. The UT Police Officer did not think there was anything wrong with issuing the subject a citation for Possession of Alcohol by a Minor before releasing him from the scene. Occurred on: 10/19/13, at 9:16 AM. JESTER WEST, 201 EAST 21ST STREET Public Intoxication, Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT Student was found passed out, partially seated and partially laying on his side, on the 13th floor of the Jester West dormitory. The UT Police Officer observed that the subject had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him and slurred speech. The subject was found to be under the legal drinking age of 21 and could only respond with, “I’m sorry” to any question asked by the UT Police Officer. The UT Police Officer issued the “sorry” subject a citation for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. A sober friend responded to the area and took responsibility for his “sorry” intoxicated buddy. Occurred on: 10/19/13, at 3:08 AM. BLANTON MUSEUM OF ART, 1900 SPEEDWAY STREET Criminal Trespass: While on foot patrol at the Blanton Museum of Art a UT Police Officer observed a Non-UT subject lying on a bench. The subject woke confused and explained that she had been sleeping there for the night. The subject stated that she was, “unaware that she was on the UT campus.” The UT Police Officer found it hard to believe that she did not know the boundaries as she was identified as a frequent flyer with three previous Criminal Trespass Warnings. All of the Criminal Trespass Warnings were signed by the subject stating that she understood the boundaries of the UT campus. The subject was arrested for Criminal Trespass and was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on: 10/19/13, at 1:45 AM. 2100 SAN JACINTO BLVD Public Intoxication: After consuming a Four Loko, a Non-UT male subject was seen screaming without a shirt or shoes on, at a bus stop on San Jacinto. MAIN BUILDING, 110 INNER CAMPUS DRIVE Public Intoxication: A Non-UT subject was observed making odd gestures towards people passing by and was being loud and disruptive in the Main Building. Once on scene, a UT Police Officer attempted to speak to the subject and he began to ramble and was incoherent. When asked for his identification the subject went Amy Winehouse and said, “No, no, no.” An odor of alcohol was coming from the subject’s breath and he displayed dilated pupils. The subject made false claims by identifying himself as various rap artists such as Kanye West and 2 Chainz. Once he was identified, the UT Police Officer felt the situation was a wrap and wrapped the subject’s wrist in handcuffs.
