Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 01/25/16 and Tuesday, 01/26/16. BUREAU of ECONOMIC GEOLOGY, 10611 Exploration Way Burglary: A UT staff member reported an unknown subject entered his secured 3rd floor office, opened a desk drawer and absconded with three bags of Jack Links Tender Bites beef jerky. At the time of the report, it was unknown how the suspect opened the closed and locked office door. Loss value: $5.45. Occurred between 01/22/16 at 5:45 p.m. and 01/25/16 at 4:45 a.m. BURDINE HALL, 2505 University Theft: A Samsung Galaxy 6S was stolen after it was left on a bench located in a 2nd floor hallway. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred on 01/25/16 between 10:55 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. MAIN BUILDING, 110 Inner Campus Drive Fraud: A UT staff member reported being contacted by a fraud alert service. The alert service advised a check issued to a student had the name on the check changed and that a subject attempted to cash the altered check. The case is under investigation. Reported on 01/25/16 at 8:06 a.m. SAN JACINTO PARKING GARAGE, 2401 San Jacinto Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT student was found sitting in a stairwell smoking from a glass pipe. When the officer asked him what he was doing, he simply replied, “Yeah, exactly what it looks like.†More like it was what it smelled like as the officer found burned marijuana residue in the bowl of the pipe. Occurred on 01/25/16 at 11:24 p.m. UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1611 Guadalupe Graffiti: A black marker was used to write words on a restroom stall wall located inside a 1st floor men's restroom. Removal cost: $50.00. Occurred on 01/25/16 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 14 Alarm Reports, 1 “Police Help Callbox Activation, 1 Fire Alarm Activation, 16 Traffic Violations, 6 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Welfare Concern Reports, 1 Medical Emergency Assist Request, 1 Stuck Elevator Report, and 9 Public Assist Requests between 01/25/16 and 01/26/16.
