Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday, 02/10/16 and Thursday, 02/11/16. GREGORY GYMNASIUM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A Samsung Galaxy S6 was stolen from a backpack that was left on the exterior pool deck while the owner swam in the pool. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred on 02/10/16 between 3:15 p.m. and 3:35 p.m. PERRY-CASTAÑEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Criminal Trespass / Resisting Arrest: A non-UT subject, who was known by the reporting person to have received a written criminal trespass warning for the library just two days earlier, was reported as entering the library and loitering near the lobby. One of the responding officers recognized the subject as someone who had indeed received a prior warning. When the officers initiated an arrest, the subject began to resist by tensing up and pulling away from the officers. The subject quickly found himself lying face down with his arms under his body. During the struggle, one of the officers was struck in the face and was nearly bitten by the subject. An object on the officer's duty belt brought the electrifying event to a closure. Occurred on 02/10/16 at 3:36 p.m. SOUTH MALL, 200 West 21st Street Graffiti: Red spray paint was used to write words on several statues and a wall located around the South Mall. Removal cost: $400.00. Discovered on 02/10/16 at 7:55 a.m. STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER, 2201 Speedway Graffiti: A black marker was used to write words on a 1st floor men's restroom stall wall. Removal cost: $100.00. Discovered on 02/10/16 at 11:24 a.m. 1900 San Antonio Possession of Dangerous Drug: A patrol officer observed a small group of non-UT subjects loitering near the intersection. One of the two subjects was smoking a hand rolled cigar. Upon seeing the officer, that subject quickly dropped the cigar and acted as if he hadn't been smoking. The officer spoke with the group of three and found the discarded cigar contained .04 ounces of “K2” – a synthetic cannabinoid. When asked if the group had anything else, a second subject tossed a bag containing .25 ounces of “Klimax Potpourri” – a synthetic cannabinoid. Occurred on 02/10/16 at 10:31 a.m. 23rd Street and San Jacinto Possession of a Fictitious Driver License: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped for running a stop sign. As the student retrieved her driver's license form her wallet, the astute officer spied with her little eye a document that was deceptively similar to a driver's license tucked behind the student's valid driver's license. Further inspection showed the fictitious license purported the student to be older than 21.
