Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 02/15/16 and Tuesday, 02/16/16. CLARK FIELD, 307 East 21st Street Theft: A UT student reported seeing a subject going through her jacket that she had left on the ground near the lockers at Clark Field. Before the student could get back to her jacket, the subject stood up and walked away with an Apple iPhone in his hand. The student checked her jacket and discovered her Apple iPhone 6S had been stolen. The suspect left the area before the student was able to call the police. The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20's, approximately 5'10” tall with short hair and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, dark colored shorts and holding a blue Gatorade bottle…and the cell phone. The phone was turned off before the “Find my iPhone” app was used. Loss value: $400.00. Occurred on 02/15/16 at 12:25 p.m. 2300 Guadalupe Possession of Dangerous Drug / Tampering with Evidence: A non-UT subject was observed sitting on the curb smoking a hand rolled cigar. The smoke coming from the cigar carried the distinct odor of synthetic cannabinoid burning. Upon seeing the uniformed officer, the subject stood up and began “crumpling” the hand rolled cigar in his hand. The officer directed the subject to drop the cigar to which the subject did just prior to twisting his foot to and fro over the cigar. The officer was able to recover .01 ounces of the synthetic cannabinoid, K2. Occurred on 02/15/16 at 8:00 p.m. 1900 San Jacinto Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The passenger side rear window was broken out of a white colored Mazda 3 while the vehicle was parked and unattended. The car's in-dash car stereo was stolen from the vehicle. Loss value: $150.00. Repair cost: $250.00. Occurred on 02/15/16 between 6:35 a.m. and 4:17 p.m. 1900 San Jacinto Burglary of Motor Vehicle: The passenger side rear window was broken out of a grey colored Honda CRV while the vehicle was parked and unattended. The car's in-dash car stereo was stolen from the vehicle. Loss value: $200.00. Repair cost: $250.00. Occurred on 02/15/16 between 3:45 p.m. and 4:47 p.m. 400 West 15th Street Possession of Dangerous Drug / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject as observed smoking a hand rolled cigarette that emitted a distinct odor of burning synthetic cannabinoid. The investigation revealed the cigarette contained .009 ounces of the synthetic cannabinoid K2. The subject was also found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for lying on a sidewalk. Occurred on 02/15/16 at 5:42 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 24 Alarm Reports, 10 Traffic Violations, 7 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency Assist Request, 2 Light Malfunction Reports, 1 Unsecured Door Report, and 2 Public Assist Requests between 02/15/16 and 02/16/16.
