Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday, 02/17/16 and Thursday, 02/18/16. BRAZOS PARKING GARAGE, 210 East Martin Luther King Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Three UT students were found sitting inside a parked vehicle on the top level of the garage. Upon checking their welfare, the officer detected a strong odor of burning marijuana. The student in the driver's seat indicated there had been marijuana in the car but it had all gone up in smoke – Bazinga! When advised a search of the vehicle would be conducted, one of the other students confessed the vehicle did contain some marijuana and a grinder. In all, a grinder with marijuana residue, a pipe with burned marijuana residue and two plastic bottles containing a total of .18 ounces of marijuana was found inside the vehicle. Occurred on 02/17/16 at 11:12 p.m. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, 2110 Speedway Theft: A Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet computer was stolen from a 7th floor office. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred between 12/01/15 at 7:00 a.m. and 12/05/15 at 5:00 p.m. Reported on 02/17/16 at 2:28 p.m. LITTLEFIELD CAFÉ, 2500 University Criminal Trespass / Assault by Threat: A non-UT subject, who had received a written criminal trespass warning just a half hour earlier at the Student Services Building, was reported to have attempted to enter the café's kitchen and threatened the manager by saying, “I'm going to kick your f*#!%&#@ a##” Needless to say, the subject was taken into custody. Occurred on 02/17/16 at 12:28 p.m. ROBERT LEE MOORE HALL, 2515 Speedway Theft: An Apple iPhone 6S was stolen while it was left in a backpack in an 8th floor lab. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred on 02/17/16 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING, 100 West Dean Keeton Failure to Identify / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was reported as harassing pedestrians near the bus on the south side of the Student Services Building. When officers arrived, they found the subject arguing with a parked car. When identified, the subject provided a name of another subject. As it turned out, the name the subject provided matched that of a registered sex offender. When the subject's correct name was determined, he was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 02/17/16 at 11:54 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 17 Alarm Reports, 2 Fire Alarm Activations, 16 Traffic Violations, 3 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 5 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Medical Emergency Assist Request, 2 Unsecured Door Reports, 3 Welfare Concern Reports, and 6 Public Assist Requests between 02/17/16 and 02/18/16.
