Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 03/24/16 and Friday, 03/25/16. BERNARD AND AUDRE RAPOPORT BUILDING, 2225 Speedway Ave Graffiti: A UT staff member discovered the words, “Red Rum” written in what appeared to be red crayon outside their office. The staff member speculated that a fan of The Shining was involved since the words were written under a malfunctioning light, which flickered continuously. Estimated cost of removal: $50. Occurred on 03/24/16 between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 E 21st St Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT staff member contacted the police because they were concerned about the behavior of a student who was in the lobby crying and unable to stand under their own power. UTPD officers arrived and determined that the subject was not a danger to himself or others, but had consumed alcohol while being under the age of 21. Occurred on 03/24/16 at 11:57 p.m. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 E 21st St Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor / Possession of a Fictitious ID: A UTPD Officer discovered a student sleeping on a couch by the elevators at this location. When the officer woke the student up, they gave the officer a fake ID. The astute officer noticed that the student was unsuccessfully trying to hide their real Driver's License and quickly determined the student's identity. The student was released to a sober adult who agreed to assume care, custody, and control of them until they sobered up. Occurred on 03/25/16 at 5:11 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 20 Alarm Reports, 6 Traffic Violations, 4 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Collision Reports, 1 Lost Property Report, 1 Medical Assist Request, 2 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Requests, and 4 Public Assist Requests between 03/24/16 and 03/25/16.
