Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 04/22/16 and Monday, 04/25/16. CREEKSIDE RESIDENCE HALL, 2501 San Jacinto Theft / Evading Arrest: A non-UT subject was arrested for stealing a silver colored Trek bicycle from the bicycle racks on the west side of the residence hall and then evading the police for a brief period of time there-after. Recovery value: $650.00. Occurred on 04/24/16 at 9:05 a.m. L. THEO BELLMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was reported as challenging pedestrians to a fight on the west side of the building. The subject was located and found to have a “no bail” arrest warrant for a parole violation pertaining to a burglary case. Occurred on 04/24/16 at 4:00 p.m. MOOREHILL HALL DORMITORY, 214 East 21st Street Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Possession of Inhalant Paraphernalia / Possession of Alcohol by a Minor / Possession of Abusable Volatile Chemical: UT police officers responded to a 3rd floor room to investigate a report of a suspicious odor. Upon arrival, officers identified a UT student inside the room. The student was under the age of 21 and found to be in possession of a bottle of vodka, .65 ounces of marijuana, .01 ounces of suspected hashish oil, a can of compressed NO2 Cream Whipper, 17 NO2 cartridges, a metal marijuana grinder, and a wood grinder. Occurred on 04/22/16 at 6:42 p.m. RECREATIONAL SPORTS CENTER, 2001 San Jacinto Theft: A wallet containing various identification cards, a credit card, a debit card, and $40.00 in cash was stolen from a locker located in a 1st floor men's locker room. Loss value: $50.00. Occurred on 04/22/16 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. ROBERT A. WELCH HALL, 105 East 24th Street Theft: A construction worker reported an unknown subject was seen carrying copper pipes from a construction site to a waiting vehicle. The construction worker was able to provide a photograph of the suspect vehicle. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred on 04/24/16 between 7:00 p.m. and 7:29 p.m. 1911 Guadalupe Possession of Dangerous Drug: A non-UT subject was found loitering on the side of the road. The subject was found to be in possession of a hand rolled cigar containing .02 ounces of a synthetic cannabinoid. Occurred on 04/24/16 at 7:05 p.m. 2200 San Antonio Public Intoxication: Three non-UT subjects were found loitering in and around a parked vehicle. One of the subjects was determined to be intoxicated to the point he was deemed to be a danger to himself. In lieu or arrest, that subject was turned over to one of the other two subjects. Occurred on 04/24/16 at 10:49 p.m. 2000 San Jacinto Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was reported as having fallen. The subject was found lying on the ground near a bus stop. The subject was found to be intoxicated to the point he was a danger to himself. In lieu of arrest, the subject was turned over to a family member and was issued a citation for the consumption of alcohol by a minor. Occurred on 04/23/16 at 10:22 p.m. 26th Street and Guadalupe Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Controlled Substance: A non-UT subject was stopped after making an unsafe turn while driving a car and striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The subject was found to be in possession of .82 ounces of marijuana, .21 grams of ecstasy, .03 grams of methamphetamine, a small pipe, a marijuana grinder, and a set of measuring scales. The pedestrian did not require medical attention. Occurred on 04/22/16 at 9:03 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 62 Alarm Reports, 5 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 6 Suspicious Activity Reports, 6 Suspicious Vehicle Reports, 8 Suspicious Person Reports, 1 Suspicious Noise Report, 38 Traffic Violations, 2 Motor Vehicle Collision Reports, 3 Welfare Concern Reports, 27 Courtesy Escorts, 48 Foot Patrols, 4 Medical Emergency Assists, 1 Unsecured Door Report, 1 Found Property Report, 1 Accidental Damage Report, 1 Non-Criminal Fire, 1 Traffic Control Assist, 4 Motorist Assists, and 13 Public Assist Requests between 04/22/16 and 04/25/16.
