Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Wednesday, 04/27/16 and Thursday 04/28/16. GOLDSMITH HALL, 310 Inner Campus Drive Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found rifling through the trash dumpsters located on the south side of the building. The subject's treasure hunt came to an end with the issuance of a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 04/27/16 at 7:00 p.m. GREGORY GYMNASIUM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A backpack containing several items was placed in an unsecured locker located in a 2nd floor men's locker room. When the owner returned to the unsecured locker, he discovered a Sony Vaio laptop computer, several gift cards, a cellphone battery and $40.00 in U.S. currency had been taken. Loss value: $480.00. Occurred on 04/27/16 between 7:10 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. JESSE H. JONES COMMUNICATIONS CENTER, 2504-B Whitis Credit Card Abuse: A UT student reported her credit card had been stolen and the card was used to make several unauthorized charges. Reported on 04/27/16 at 4:27 p.m. PERRY-CASTAÑEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A Lenovo M83 laptop computer was stolen from an unsecured 2nd floor computer lab. Loss value: $400.00. Occurred between 04/18/16 and 04/20/16. 200 East Martin Luther King Driving While License Invalid with No Proof of Insurance: A non-UT subject was stopped for driving a vehicle at night without the headlamps illuminated. The driver was found to have been operating the vehicle while his license was invalid. Occurred on 04/27/16 at 9:40 p.m. 1900 Robert Dedman Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was reported as being inside a construction zone and throwing traffic cones. The subject was located and found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was deemed to be a danger to himself. Occurred on 04/28/16 at 2:56 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 21 Alarm Reports, 1 “Police Help” Callbox Activation, 1 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Suspicious Person Reports, 1 Suspicious Vehicle Report, 1 Suspicious Odor Report, 8 Traffic Violations, 1 Motor Vehicle Collision, 9 Courtesy Escorts, 11 Foot Patrols, 1 Medical Emergency Assist, 1 Found Property Report, 1 Accidental Damage Report, 1 Traffic Control Assist, 3 Motorist Assist, 1 Malfunctioning Light Report, 6 Welfare Concern Reports, and 2 Public Assist Requests between 04/27/16 and 04/28/16.
