Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 04/28/16 and Friday, 04/29/16. FRANK ERWIN SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER, 1701 Red River Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found lying on the sidewalk in-front of the west box office. The subject was found to have two outstanding, outside agency arrest warrants for possession of alcohol in a prohibited area and smoking in a prohibited area. Occurred on 04/29/17 at 12:38 a.m. GREGORY GYMNASIUM, 2101 Speedway Theft: An old backpack containing several books and a wallet with an identification card, a credit card, and a debit card was stolen from an unsecured locker located in the second floor weight room. Loss value: $80.00. Occurred on 04/28/16 between 12:20 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. GREGORY GYMNASIUM, 2101 Speedway Theft: A black Apple watch was stolen from a locker located inside the 2nd floor men's locker room. At the time of the theft, the locker was secured with a four-digit combination pad lock. Loss value: $400.00. Occurred on 04/28/16 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. INTRAMURAL FIELDS, 4901 Guadalupe Theft: A Big Tex utility trailer containing toolboxes with various tools and two welders was stolen from a secured construction site located on the west side of the property. Loss value: $20,000.00. Occurred between 04/27/16 at 12 noon and 04/28/16 at 6:30 a.m. PERRY-CASTAÑEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was reported as asking a student to use her laptop computer before making inappropriate remarks to her. The subject was located and issued a written criminal trespass warning. Prior to leaving the campus, the subject contested UT was a public institution and the police could not tell him he couldn't come back. When the subject return to the library nearly five hours later, he learned just how wrong he was as the officer placed him in handcuffs and transported him to jail. Occurred on 04/28/16 at 2:44 p.m. (warning) and 7:21 p.m. (arrest). PERRY-CASTAÑEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Theft: A black leather wallet containing a credit card, two forms of identification, and $20 in U.S. currency was stolen after it was left on a 2nd floor table. Loss value: $25.00. Occurred on 04/27/16 between 5:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. UNIVERSITY POLICE BUILDING, 2201 Robert Dedman Credit Card Abuse: A UT student came to the police department to report two unauthorized charges on her credit card. Reported on 04/28/16 at 11:45 a.m. 300 West 24th Street Public Intoxication: A UT police officer drove by a parked UT police vehicle. The officer noticed someone sleeping in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Upon closer inspection, the officer realized the subject was not a police officer but an intoxicated student. Occurred on 04/29/16 at 2:05 a.m. 24th Street and Guadalupe Evading Arrest or Detention: A UT police officer observed a UT student creating a splash zone of sorts on the sidewalk. When the officer attempted to stop the student to check his welfare, the student defiantly fled on foot taking the pursuing officer on a tour of several roads and alleys in the neighborhood just west of campus. During the foot pursuit, the officer realized her patrol car was left unlocked, which could lead to someone climbing into it and falling asleep. Occurred on 04/29/16 at 2:05 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 23 Alarm Reports, 2 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 4 Suspicious Activity Reports, 6 Suspicious Person Reports, 6 Suspicious Vehicle Reports, 1 Suspicious Odor Report, 10 Traffic Violations, 1 Motor Vehicle Collision, 16 Courtesy Escorts, 8 Foot Patrols, 1 Welfare Concern Report, and 4 Public Assist Requests between 04/28/16 and 04/29/16.
