Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 04/29/16 and Tuesday, 05/03/16. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 E 21st St Assault: UTPD received a call about a nude UT student at this location, attacking other students. Officers quickly located and subdued the subject. They quickly discovered that the student was intoxicated on some type of hallucinogen and obtained medical aid for them. The UT students that were assaulted all had minor injuries that did not require medical attention. Occurred on 04/29/17 at 2:15 p.m. LIVING LEARNING CENTER, 2600 Whitis Ave Theft: A UT student reported the theft of their bicycle from the nearby rack. The bicycle was secured with a U-lock which was still attached to the rack. Loss value: $200.00. Occurred on 04/22/16 between 8:30 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River St Criminal Trespass Warning: A UT staff member denied entry to a subject who claimed to be working in the area. Once the staff member did so, the subject made several threatening statements. Officers located the subject and issued them a Criminal Trespass Warning. Occurred on 04/29/16 at 4:28 p.m. JESTER WEST DORMITORY, 201 E 21st St Credit Card Abuse: A UT student reported their debit card was used to make several charges without their permission. Loss value: $151.02. Occurred between 04/23/16 and 04/25/16. 2200 BLOCK OF SAN ANTONIO ST Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer noticed a couple of UT students at this location appeared to have trouble walking normally. After officers stopped the student to check on them, they determined that one student was intoxicated to the degree that they required medical attention. Officers summoned medical assistance in lieu of arrest. Occurred on 04/29/16 at 9:24 p.m. INTERSECTION OF DEAN KEETON ST AND GUADALUPE ST Public Intoxication: A UTPD Officer observed a subject fall at this location. When officers checked on the subject, they found that he was highly intoxicated. The subject was released to a sober party in lieu of arrest. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 2:40 a.m. SAN JACINTO HALL, 309 E 21st St Public Intoxication: A UT staff member called police to report a person passed out in the lobby of this location. Officers arrived and determined the student was in need of medical attention due to his level of intoxication. EMS transported the student to the hospital for treatment for possible alcohol poisoning. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 3:18 a.m. 300 W 21st ST Public Intoxication: UTPD Dispatch received a call about a suspicious person near the Littlefield Fountain. Officers discovered a subject passed out in the bushes near this location. Officers determined the subject was in need of medical attention due to his level of intoxication and EMS was summoned to aid him. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 4:07 a.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River St Public Intoxication / Assault: UTPD Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at this location. Officers quickly separated two aggressors from assaulting another woman who accused them of skipping the line for the women's restroom. The aggressors were found to be intoxicated and as officers were issuing them a citation, one of them attempted to assault the woman again. Officers quickly restrained her, preventing a second assault, and placed her under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 9:15 p.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River St Public Intoxication: A concert patron at this location flagged down officers to report that the person who was with her was intoxicated to a degree that they were unable to care for him. Officers found the subject and determined that he was intoxicated to a degree that he was a danger to himself and others. The subject was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 9:25 p.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River St Public Intoxication: UTPD Officers responded to the report of an assault at this location. Officers located the person that several patrons identified as the aggressor. While they determined that no assault had occurred, they found that the person identified as the aggressor was intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself. He was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 10:26 p.m. SPEEDWAY GARAGE, 105 E 27th ST Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: UTPD Dispatch received a call about a passed out subject near this location. Officers found the subject and determined he was not intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself. They also discovered the subject was under the age of 21. The subject was released after officers issued him a citation. Occurred on 04/30/16 at 10:45 p.m. 1900 BLOCK OF TRINITY ST, Public Intoxication: UTPD Officers located a subject who was having trouble walking on level pavement at this location. Officers determined the subject was a danger to himself due to his level of intoxication and placed him under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 05/01/16 at 1:25 a.m. 1900 BLOCK OF SAN JACINTO BLVD Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UTPD Officer was flagged down by a subject asking for directions at this location. The officer immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol from the subject and later discovered they were under the age of 21. The officer issued the subject a citation and summoned a taxi to help the subject arrive safely at his destination. Occurred on 05/01/16 at 1:47 a.m. 1900 BLOCK OF SAN JACINTO BLVD Public Intoxication: While patrolling a nearby garage, UTPD officers heard a person screaming. They found the person at this location and determined the reason for his outburst was an extreme level of intoxication. After determining the subject did not need medical attention, they placed him under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 05/01/16 at 5:58 a.m. REC SPORTS, 2001 San Jacinto Blvd Theft: A UT student reported cash and a laptop charger were stolen from a gym locker at this location. Estimated loss: $205. Occurred on 05/02/2016 between 9:00 a.m. and 10 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 98 Alarm Reports, 4 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 31 Suspicious Activity Reports, 36 Traffic Violations, 2 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 5 Medical Assist Requests, 8 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Requests, 5 Welfare Concern Reports, and 11 Public Assist Requests between 04/29/16 and 05/03/16.
