Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 05/06/16 and Monday 05/09/16. GOLDSMITH HALL, 310 Inner Campus Dr Criminal Trespass: While patrolling on foot, a UTPD officer noticed a person that had previously received a criminal trespass warning for all UT property. The officer placed the person under arrest for Criminal Trespass. Occurred on 05/06/16 at 6:02 p.m. 2400 BLOCK OF E CLYDE LITTLEFIELD DR Public Intoxication: A UTPD officer was flagged down by the driver of a for-hire vehicle because his fare had passed out in the back seat. The officer determined that the UT student passed out in the car was a danger to herself due to her level of intoxication. The officer was able to find a sober party to assume care, custody, and control of the student until she sobered up. Occurred on 05/07/16 at 1:20 a.m. INTERSECTION OF DEAN KEETON ST AND GUADALUPE ST Driving While Intoxicated: A UTPD officer noticed a vehicle at this location without its headlights on. The vehicle also swerved and made last minute lane changes. The driver, a UT student, took a long time to notice the UTPD vehicle's flashing lights and siren, but eventually stopped at 24th Street and San Gabriel Ave. The officers conducted standardized field sobriety tests and found probable cause to place the driver under arrest for Driving While Intoxication. Occurred on 05/07/16 at 1:00 a.m. INTERSECTION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD AND SAN JACINTO BLVD Public Intoxication: UTPD Dispatch received a report of an intoxicated person screaming and running in the roadway with no shirt on. UTPD officers responded and found a person matching that description. The officers determined that the non-UT subject was a danger to himself due to his level of intoxication and placed him under arrest for Public Intoxication. Occurred on 05/07/16 at 2:34 a.m. FRANK ERWIN CENTER, 1701 Red River St Assault: A UT staff member reported to officers that an assault occurred in the stands. Officers responded and found that an assault occurred between two non-UT subjects over a seating dispute. The victim declined to press charges for the offense and UT staff found seating for the involved parties in separate sections. Occurred on 05/07/16 at 9:28 a.m. UT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 1616 Guadalupe St Criminal Trespass: A patrolling UTPD Officer found a non-UT subject sleeping at this location. The officer then found that the person had been issued a previous Criminal Trespass Warning for all UT property. The officer arrested the subject for Criminal Trespass. Occurred on 05/07/16 at 5:57 p.m. 2300 BLOCK OF SAN JACINTO BLVD Possession of Marijuana (Less than 2oz) / Possession of a Controlled Substance: A UTPD officer observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit at this location and stopped the vehicle. The officer noticed the distinctive odor of marijuana and ordered all four occupants of the vehicle to exit. After searching the vehicle, the officer found probable cause to issue a citation for Possession of Marijuana to one UT student, and place another UT student under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Occurred on 05/08/16 at 4:23 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 54 Alarm Reports, 2 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 15 Suspicious Activity Reports, 40 Traffic Violations, 9 Courtesy Escorts, 31 Foot Patrols, 1 Found Property Report, 3 Medical Emergency Assists, 5 Assist Other Law Enforcement Agency Requests, 2 Welfare Concerns, and 10 Public Assist Requests between 05/06/16 and 05/09/16.
