Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 05/13/16 and Monday, 05/16/16. ERNEST COCKRELL Jr. HALL, 301 East Dean Keeton Theft: A textbook was stolen after it was left on a table in a 1st floor hallway. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on 05/13/16 between 2:00 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. FRANK ERWIN SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER, 1701 Red River Possession of Marijuana: While working the mezzanine level during The Cure concert, yours truly, observed an amber glow around the mouth of a 10th row patron. I recognized the odor carried on the smoke coming from that amber glow as marijuana. As I made my way up to the 10th row, the patron recognized my interest and immediately placed the hand rolled cigarette on the floor under his seat. I retrieved the cigarette and found it contained .006 ounces of marijuana. Occurred on 05/13/16 at 9:01 p.m. FRANK ERWIN SPECIAL EVENTS CENTER, 1701 Red River Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed using a wall for balance as he attempted to walk around the arena level of the venue during The Cure concert. The subject was found to be intoxicated to the point Austin-Travis County EMS needed to transport him to a local hospital for further treatment. Occurred on 05/13/16 at 10:00 p.m. LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY AND MUSEUM, 2305 Robert Dedman Possession of Marijuana / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed sitting on a pedestrian barrier. The subject was holding a plastic bottle containing a green leafy substance in one hand and a hand rolled cigarette in the other hand. In all, the subject was found to have .17 ounces of marijuana. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was also issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 05/15/16 at 4:27 p.m. UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 2200 East 6th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was reported as sleeping in-front of the north entrance to the school. The subject was awakened and issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 05/15/16 at 11:45 p.m. 1700 Guadalupe Possession of Controlled Substance: A UT student was stopped for speeding while driving a white Acura sedan. During the stop, the officer observed a plastic bag containing two and a quarter pills that were discovered to be Alprazolam. The pills were not in a prescription bottle and the student did not possess a prescription for the pills. Occurred on 05/15/16 at 1:10 a.m. 1800 Guadalupe Driving While Intoxicated: A UT student was stopped for driving her black Kia Soul the wrong way on a one-way roadway. When asked if she had been drinking alcoholic beverages, the student replied with the standard response given to police officers - “Two Beers.” The two beers must have been very large beers as the student was believed to have been intoxicated to the point she was driving while intoxicated. Occurred on 05/15/16 at 3:30 a.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 48 Alarm Reports, 1 Fire Alarm Activation, 9 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 20 Suspicious Activity Reports, 19 Suspicious Subject Reports, 1 Suspicious Vehicle Report, 60 Traffic Violations, 5 Collisions, 26 Courtesy Escorts, 29 Foot Patrols, 4 Medical Emergency Assists, 6 Welfare Concern Reports, 2 Unsecured Door Reports, 3 Stuck Elevator Calls, 4 Found Property Reports, and 20 Public Assist Request between 05/13/16 and 05/16/16.
