Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Monday, 06/06/16 and Tuesday, 06/07/16. ****Scam Alert**** Please see the attached Public Service Announcement (PSA) from our friends in the U.S. Department of Justice. The PSA is in regards to an increase in reported scams in which a person contacts the victim and claims to be with a technical support team. Once the suspect gains the victim's confidence, he or she will then walk the subject through a process that allows the suspect to gain control of your electronic and mobile devices. LITTLEFIELD RESIDENCE HALL, 302 West 24th Street Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on a bench near the residence hall. The subject was awakened and issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/07/16 at 1:15 a.m. WALTER WEBB HALL, 405 West 25th Street Graffiti: A black marker was used to write words on an exterior window located on the south east side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00. Discovered on 06/06/16 at 9:18 a.m. WHITAKER FIELDS, 4901 Guadalupe Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was reported as sleeping on the ground near the tennis center restrooms. The subject was located and issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/06/16 at 8:13 a.m. 2300 Rio Grande Public Intoxication: A UT student was observed stumbling along a sidewalk before he lost his battle with gravity. The officer checked on the student and learned he did not sustain any injuries from his plummet. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a danger to himself. While speaking with the student, a sober friend of the student rushed up and agreed to assume care, custody and control of student. Occurred on 06/07/16 at 10:27 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 16 Alarm Reports, 2 “Police Help” Callbox Activations, 3 Suspicious Activity Reports, 2 Courtesy Escorts, 5 Traffic Violations, 2 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 2 Medical Emergency Assists, 1 Unsecured Door Report, and 2 Public Assist Requests between 06/06/16 and 06/07/16.
