Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Friday, 06/10/16 and Monday, 06/13/16. BRAZOS PARKING GARAGE, 210 East Martin Luther King Criminal Mischief: Several colors of chalk were used to draw an advertisement on the sidewalk beside the parking garage. Removal cost: $20.00. Reported on 06/12/16 at 4:33 p.m. CONNALLY CENTER FOR JUSTICE, 2500 Trinity Criminal Trespass Warning: While investigating an alarm activation, a UT Police officer located a non-UT subject loitering in the area. The subject had no reason for being in the area and was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/11/16 at 5:22 p.m. MEZES HALL, 154 West 21st Street Theft: A pair of white gold wedding bands, an Apple iPhone 6 and an envelope containing $750 in cash was stolen out of a backpack that was left inside a 2nd floor office. Loss value: $2,250.00. Occurred between 06/07/16 at 7:30 a.m. and 06/08/16 at 12 noon. SOUTH MALL Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was observed leaving a courtyard between Homer Rainey Hall and Calhoun Hall. The subject had no reason for being in the courtyard and was issued a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/13/16 at 4:53 a.m. STUDENT SERVICES BUILDING, 100 West Dean Keeton Theft / Harassment: A UT staff member reported her soon to be ex-husband made an unwanted visit to her 2nd floor office and refused to leave. The staff member wisely left her office and went to another office to summon assistance. Prior to the arrival of the police, the staff member's co-worker checked on the staff member's office and found the suspect on the floor sifting through the contents of the staff member's purse. The suspect took the staff member's cell phone and left the area. The investigation revealed the suspect had also made repeated, unwanted harassing telephone calls to the staff member's office phone. Loss value: $250.00. Occurred on 06/10/16 at 4:00 p.m. UNIVERSITY SIGN SHOP, 2920 San Jacinto Graffiti: Purple spray paint was used to write a word on an exterior wall of the building. Removal cost; $100.00. Discovered on 06/12/16 at 8:17 a.m. WALTER WEBB HALL, 405 West 25th Street Graffiti: Silver spray paint was used to write a word on a wall located in the covered parking area. Removal cost: $100.00. Discovered on 06/11/16 at 10:02 a.m. 1900 Guadalupe Possession of Marijuana: A patrolling UT Patrol officer observed a non-UT subject sitting in an alleyway breaking apart a green leafy substance. The subject made an attempt to conceal the green leafy substance as the officer approached. Unfortunately for the subject, the officer had already seen enough of the substance to make him believe the substance was marijuana. Occurred on 06/10/16 at 3:38 p.m. 1900 Nueces Possession of Dangerous Drug / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT police officer observed two non-UT subjects sleeping on a fire escape of a private apartment complex. One of the subjects was covered in ashes and had a plastic make-shift pipe resting on his chest. The pipe contained .002 ounces of smoldering synthetic cannabinoids known as K2. Occurred on 06/13/16 at 12:12 a.m. 1900 Red River Public Intoxication: UT police officers investigated a report of a non-UT subject who was having difficulty maintaining his balance as he walked. Officers located the subject sitting beside the roadway. The subject continued to have difficulty over-coming the earth's gravitational pull and nearly fell over while speaking with the officers. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a danger to himself and others. Occurred on 06/10/16 at 10:36 p.m. 2000 San Jacinto Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A UT police officer observed a vehicle making a right hand turn at an intersection. As the vehicle made the turn, the officer observed the back door fling open and a rear seat passenger lean out of the vehicle to expel the contents of her stomach. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the rear seat passenger as a non-UT subject who was under the age of 21. The root of the subject's stomach expulsion was traced back to the subject's alcohol consumption. Occurred on 6/11/16 at 2:53 a.m. 200 East 24th Street Assist Outside Agency / Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A non-UT subject was observed stumbling and staggering as he attempted to walk beside the roadway. When stopped, the subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for – you guessed it – public intoxication. The subject was also found to be in possession of .02 ounces of marijuana, a box containing the remnants of marijuana and a glass pipe used for smoking marijuana. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 37 Alarm Reports, 1 “Police Help” Callbox Activation, 1 Fire Alarm Activation, 4 Courtesy Escorts, 31 Traffic Violations, 2 Unsecured Door Reports, , 2 Medical Emergency Assists, 4 Welfare Concern Reports, 1 Stuck Elevator Report, 23 Suspicious Activity Reports, and 12 Public Assist Requests between 06/10/16 and 06/13/16.
