Campus Watch: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by The University Police Department Patrol Officers between Thursday, 06/16/16 and Friday, 06/17/16. ART BUILDING, 2301 San Jacinto Graffiti: Red paint was used to write words on the exterior stairs located on the west side of the building. Removal cost: $50.00. Discovered on 06/16/16 at 12:55 p.m. BENEDICT HALL, 150 West 21st Street Theft: An Apple iPhone 5S was stolen when it was left unattended on the 1st floor of the building as the owner used the restroom. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on 06/13/16 between 5:00 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. L. THEO BELLMONT HALL, 2109 San Jacinto Theft: A staff member reported two unknown subjects entered the Longhorn Team Shop. One of the subjects engaged her in a conversation while the other went to the back of the store. The other subject then returned to the front of the store and exited. The talkative subject told the staff member they would return later to make a purchase. The staff member then checked the back of the store and discovered three pair of black Nike yoga pants were missing form their hangers. One of the subjects was described as a black male, 5'7†tall with an average build and wearing a light colored t-shirt, shorts and a beige fishing hat. The other subject was described as a black male, 6'1†tall and wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. Loss value: $225.00. Occurred on 06/16/16 between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. ROBERT A. WELCH HALL, 105 East 24th Street Harassment: An employee with a construction company contracted by The University of Texas reported receiving several unwanted and threatening messages from two former employees of the construction company. Reported on 06/16/16 at 3:01 p.m. TRINITY PARKING GARAGE, 1815 Trinity Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was reported as attempting to enter the reporting person's vehicle. Officers arrived to find the subject slouched over the driver's door of the reporting person's vehicle. The subject stated she was trying to enter her vehicle. The subject's perception of the vehicle was obviously skewed by the impact of ETOH on her vision. The subject admitted she had “too much†to drink and was found to be intoxicated to the point she was a danger to herself and others. Occurred on 06/17/16 at 2:33 a.m. UNION BUILDING, 2308 Whitis Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the west side of the building. The subject was awakened with the issuance of a written criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 06/17/16 at 2:54 a.m. WINSHIP DRAMA BUILDING, 300 East 23rd Street Criminal Mischief: The locks to a cabinet door located in a second floor room were damaged. At the time of the report it was unknown if any items had been removed from the cabinet. Repair cost: $50.00. Reported on 06/16/16 at 11:56 p.m. 1400 Guadalupe Possession of Marijuana / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT student was stopped for driving a vehicle at night with only one working headlamp. The officer picked-up on the very distinctive odor of burned marijuana as she spoke to the driver. A non-UT passenger of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a glass pipe with burned marijuana residue and two plastic bags containing a total of .62 ounces of marijuana. Occurred on 06/16/16 at 11:05 p.m. 2100 Guadalupe Assist Outside Agency: A UT police officer observed a subject who was known to the officer as someone who was not affiliated with The University of Texas walking onto campus. The officer stopped the subject and discovered he had an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for the possession of a controlled substance. Occurred on 06/16/16 at 5:37 p.m. The University of Texas Police Department responded to 25 Alarm Reports, 1 Fire Alarm Activation, 10 Traffic Violations, 1 Motor Vehicle Collision, 13 Suspicious Activity Reports, 1 Stuck Elevator Report, 3 Unsecured Door Reports, and 2 Public Assist Requests between 06/16/16 and 06/17/16.
